History of USBLA Christian Education and Literature Ministry
Sunday School Ministry
USBLA Christian Education and Literature Ministry was not under the General Department in the beginning, but it was under the Youth Ministry. In the year 1960, led by Rev. S. Chotsimong Alisopur, the first meeting was held at Tsarϋ Village to start the Sunday School. From 1960 till 1971 Sunday School was under Youth Ministry. In 1972 Sunday School was handed over to USBLA General Department.
Child Evangelism
In 1970 Youth Ministry started the “Children Club”, under the theme “God Loves the Children.” After few years the name “Children Club” was change into “Child Evangelism”. Youth Ministry have initiated and started in USBLA Churches. Due to the interest of the Churches and increasing of the enrollment of children, Youth Ministry decided to give USBLA General to look after the “Child Evangelism”, as resolved by the Committee in 1971, meeting minutes Sl. No. 4.
From 1985 to 2001 “Child Evangelism” was under Women Ministry.
USBLA did not have a separate Christian Education Ministry. After the celebration of Golden Jubilee of USBLA, in the year 1998 Association resolved to keep Christian Education Ministry. Only from 1999 Association appointed Christian Education Secretary. Ministry took over both Child and Sunday School. In the year 2016 the nomenclature of the USBLA Christian Education Ministry was change into USBLA Christian Education and Literature Ministry. Under this we have Child and Sunday School, Church run Schools and Colleges under USBLA and Literature Works.
